Life doesn't always go the way that you want it, especially for Sonya Mayfield, who lost her father when she was ten, after graduation Sonya moved out of town to go to her dream college, she had almost the perfect life, straight A's, honors student, goody-two-shoes. One day she got the news of her mother being diagnosed with cancer, her whole world began to spiral of  control after that, being put on medication to having to move back home when she found out her mother's health got worse. She now lives back home with a deadbeat brother and her sick mother, being the main breadwinner of the family she believes she will never get the life she imagined.
