[Humanity left Earth after they ruined it millions of years ago and now inhabit the planet Sylvestia: a planet much like Earth but with more vegetation and wildlife. Powers existing in humans have long since been discovered; levitation, weather control, freezing or burning things with your mere hands... And so much more.]

Zuri (Luna Zuri Palms) was born and raised in Memori; a small tree village based in the jungle. She is nearing 16, the age at which her body will be strong enough to harness her power.
But when no power appears and Zuri is banished as a Shard (stain in the bloodline), her whole world changes.

Discovering yourself isn't something that occurs to you when you're surrounded by danger, but that doesn't mean it's not inevitable.

No one ever knows the whole story... Nestled deep in the forests of the Pacific Northwest, something is emerging. Kept in absolute secrecy, it seeps into a fading town, quietly shared from person to person. For Alden Bensen, a directionless high school graduate, this discovery could mean an escape from his empty existence. To Rachel DuValle, perpetually underestimated and dismissed by the world, magic represents a chance to become something much greater than herself. In the face of an unsuspecting world, their decisions shape the growth of a budding society discovering untold power. This potent force offers anyone the power to change humanity forever - or send it cascading into swift and total annihilation. ----- The Last Science is an ongoing science-fiction / low-fantasy web novel series. New chapters will be posted on Fridays for as long as it takes to tell the whole story. For Wattpad only, chapters are split up by individual scenes-if you would prefer the whole chapters in single pieces, please visit my homepage or another site where I post this story, thanks! Guardians of the Hidden Realm: The Fire Crown

16 parts Ongoing

[Rewritten] [Book 1] Twelve-year-old Skylar Sparks never wanted to be special. She was perfectly fine being a Non-Elemental, dreaming of a normal life in London-high school, university, and a future as a veterinarian. But when monstrous Nagas attack her city, everything changes. Skylar becomes the one thing she never expected, the one thing she grew up reading about, the one thing she hated: the Chosen One. Now, as the only Light Elemental in Stelarinia, she's thrown into a world where she's seen as an abomination. Tasked with finding the lost Relics, starting with the Fire Crown, she must navigate ruthless rivals, biased teachers, ancient prophecies, and dangerous creatures lurking in the shadows-all while barely understanding her own Element. With her twin brother by her side, unlikely friendships forming, and a strict Master who prefers whacking her with his staff over giving clear instructions, Skylar must figure out how to survive magical school, master her abilities, and stay alive until the Blue Moon Festival. But there's a problem-someone wants her to fail. And in a world where being the Chosen One means being hunted, failure isn't an option.
