Forced Vow

"I miss you so much baby," he said, his voice quivering.
"I miss you so much more than you can imagine, I've felt empty since the day you left, please come back to me, I love you," he said

My breath hitch as he said those words. He loves me. I felt a mixture of relief and sadness.

"I'm the daughter of the man you despise, how can you love me?" I lowered my voice.

He took a few strides towards me till we were inches apart. He gently caressed my cheeks.
"I still want to be with you despite that, Brielle. I love you so much and I can't imagine my life without you,"

My heart melted at his words and the gentle caress of his fingers. I almost gave in to my desires, but I snapped out of it just in time.
