Throughout her life, Eve felt like an outsider in her own family. She prefers to wander around aimlessly rather than go to church. She doesn't care for morals, and most importantly, she doesn't like the consumption of human meat as much as her family does. Masked rituals aren't really for her. 
Being the daughter of a cult leader in a small town is somewhat enough of a burden, but her already questionable devotion to their religion is tested soon after her 18th birthday. Now that she is old enough, it is her turn to hunt down the meat that the cult eats. Eve's own morals and the desire to fit in with her family leads her down a long and dark rabbit hole.
