"I wish I could have a fresh start; you don't even get it, Steph!"

"You think I don't wish we could have another fresh start too? Of course, I get it! God, you're so self-centred, Lucian!" At this point, I could feel the heat creeping up my arm and burning all over. "I'm self-centred? You're the one who always ditches me all day and doesn't have dinner with me anymore; I lost everything!"

"You know what? I'm sorry, Your Majesty. I'm sorry, I have things to pay for, and eating dinner with you isn't as important as having dinner at all, is it?" Now I was at my breaking point, couldn't control myself, and stormed off up to my room. "Lucian, don't you dare walk away!"

"Now you sound like Mom!"

Lucian Hendrix. Can he survive losing everything? Can he move on? Will he be allowed to do so? Everything he loved in flames, he burns brighter still, until the supernova.
