12 year old Isla has a deep dark secret. She likes girls, quite a bit actually. She'd tried fixing herself but to no avail. She had finally come to terms with it... ...but she felt, alone. She had many friends but it's hard to not feel lonely as a not so straight girl in a homophobic place. But one day, everything changed, and maybe just maybe, this year won't be so sucky after all.
13 year old Claire is having a pretty bad year. She'd blame her grandmother for making her move, her dad's killer, and her mom going batshit crazy as well but who knows, maybe moving is the right idea. With a fresh start in tow maybe it's time to leave her messed up past behind and never look back.
But when suspicious crimes begin to appear around town that appear very similar to Claire's dad's death, the two girls might have to pick up the slack where the police are dropping it. And who knows, maybe it'll bring them closer than they ever could've thought.
