It all starts with an accident, the Wickery Bridge accident on May 23, 2009. Adrina was in the car with her older twin sister, Elena, and her parents, Miranda and Greyson Gilbert. Their goal was to go home, but there is an accident on the Wickery Bridge. This changes everything. Not only did Miranda and Greyson Gilbert die in this accident, but Adrina Gilbert fell into a coma. Only after many months later does she wake up. But the strange thing is that she felt extremely fit, even though coma patients are usually very tired after they wake up. Her goal quickly becomes clear. So she decided to carry on. But Elena hides the fact that vampires exist.

But soon Adrina also finds out the truth. So she is drawn into a world in which she is hunted. Because whatever the reason, vampires react very noticeably to her blood, like a drug. Vampires quickly lose control because of her blood. But when Klaus Mikaelson finds out about her. A doppelganger with such strange blood. Of course this piques his curiosity. He wonders what will happen if he creates a hybrid with her blood. At first he thinks she is Elena when he sees her. But this is also changing quickly. This is how Adrina gets to know the Mikaelson family.
