People all over the world believe in love. They believe in a love where two strangers cross paths and sprout uncontrollable feelings for each other until they decide to spend happily ever after together. That's all fine and good but it's definitely not the truest form of love. They are individuals, even as a couple. They can exist not only together, but also by themselves.
The strongest most unbreakable form of love is that of a person and their shadow. The shadow exists just because and for their individual. They can not exist without them. From the day their person is born till the day they die, they never leave their side.
So how can a love between two people who can walk away at any time even compare to the unconditional and silent company of a shadow...

Jungkook has lived a difficult life. He's been through metaphorical hell and back. With a drunk for a father who wouldn't think twice of lifting his hand towards him, and an absolute club-goer of a mother who he knows less about than his 4th grade teacher.
With a childhood like that, making it to college wasn't easy. It took a combination of neighbors that pitied him and an evergrowing desire to escape.
More than that though, It took a very active imagination. One that allowed him to "check out" of life when things became too much to handle. One that allowed him to escape his own reality if only for a short while. It's what brought him his idea and desire to become a writer.
His imagination when writing his stories is what caught the attention of his teachers and then later his college. But it's also that very same imagination that has been slowly terrorizing him. The quality in him that will allow him to succeed, Is the very same quality that has him looking over his shoulder and slowly losing his mind as he feels he's being watched all the time.
At least he would have believed it was his imagination, were it not for the day his shadow came to life just in time to save him from guaranteed death.
