The Shadowsinger of the Night Court is sent on an unusual mission when visitors from another land arrive in Prythian and begin to upturn the courts. But after capturing the three rebels, he realises he was destined to find one of them in particular. 

Lila is the high commander of secret forces in her home,  when she is sent to search new lands on behalf of her rulers she finds a lot more than she bargained for.
