Around 2030, a team of Hungarian IT developers developed a VR technology to help patients with intellectual disabilities, mobility problems, or trauma from a myriad of causes so that they, too, could experience peace, beauty, and tranquility, even if only in a virtual world. Of course, initially, it went as the developers had planned. By 2040, video game companies were competing to develop the technology and create video games that would take players into a virtual world of this or that kind. These games, such as Call Of Duty, Tom Clancy's - Division, and Fortnite, have been so successful that they have created a shared world of games, making them even more successful. Seeing this, countries have organized tournaments between themselves with high stakes. But then began a process that could only end in disaster. By 2047, the desire for prizes between countries led to real-life battles, culminating in a major war. This war went global until finally, civilization as we know it disappeared completely.
