Red Mark: You've fallen in love Black Mark: Your love is requited Scar: Your love has died Some people have more marks than others. Some don't have any. Love works in mysterious ways. We can't control when these marks appear. What happens when two people, one afraid to love and the other vowing to never love again, meet and each gain a black mark? That's what happens with Joseph and Ariel. Joseph, who's only mark turned to a scar. And Ariel, who's seen love turn into hate. They both have sworn to never fall in love. To never gain any more marks. Will these two stick to the vows they made or will they follow that path that fate has left?

Everyone gets marks at least once in their lifetime. It's just a matter of when. Marks can appear red, or black, the marks aren't set in stone. They're subject to change, they can disappear, change color, or even scar. A black mark means feelings on all sides are mutual, red means the love is unrequited, and well, a scar comes from a mark dying. Law is not one easily persued, he's never gotten a mark, and finds them to be, putting it frankly, a load of crap. How could some inexplainable mark on the skin determine love anyway? Luffy, on the other hand, loves so much. He's had four marks, all of which have scared. Luffy has been through a lot, he's convinced himself marks are cursed in the past. But this time he'll make sure it's different.
