Percy and Lily were practically sisters, each confiding in the other about their respective worlds. Percy was the maid of honor at Lily's wedding and Lily comforted Percy when she felt her whole world was taken away from her. When Percy was named Godmother to Harry she could not stop the biggest smile from appearing. They had planned so many things that would never come to fruition. Percy had gone back to camp to attend Jason's funeral, and that was when tragedy struck. Percy felt her world crumbling once again before realizing Harry had survived. Thankfully Dumbledore had allowed her to take Harry.
