"He said about a party?" Hyunsik said, a sympathetic look in his eyes, knowing he won't be able to make it yet again

"It's alright, I'll just go alone. I'll have Eli and his fiance. It will be disappointing that you're not able to come, but I can always buy one of those cardboard cutouts of you." I said

He laughed loudly

"That could work, you know! Though I hear cardboard me can be quite stiff, not the best for mingling!" He replied

We both laughed together at the silly idea

"Seriously though, don't worry about it, I'll have fun either way." I said

He shot me a sad smile

"I'm so sorry, Carys. I wish I could come to every function... I have to get back to work now, I love you!" Hyunnie said, pulling his earphones back over his ears

"I love you, too, Hyunnie." I replied

He hung up, leaving me alone again in the school classroom, teaching teenagers about art.

It wasn't my dream job, but at least I was working somewhat within the art industry...
