In the small, humble town of Westershire, locals are friendly, home-bodies, who embrace everyone with the kindness and love that people deserve. Albeit, a bit...odd, the town is wonderful. But please, don't... don't stay too long; wouldn't want to over stay your welcome.

Fifteen-year-old Delilah Holloway's life is a maze of unresolved questions.
Ever since her parents vanished three years ago, leaving her and her two siblings in the care of their ailing grandmother, Delilah has struggled with her own demons. She finds solace in the companionship of her best friend, Mavis Valyrae, a wealthy girl with a carefree attitude and pineapple lollipops. Together, they embark on daily summer adventures to escape their mundane reality, in the town that- well, Westershire wasn't on any map Delilah had ever seen. It was as if the town itself had decided to erase its presence from the world, tucked away in the middle of nowhere. The locals were friendly enough, but there was always a subtle undercurrent that discouraged strangers from staying too long.

And now, on one fateful journey into the thick woods that surround one entire side of the town, in the heavy July heat, they find out things about this town that no one, not even the curious Mavis, wanted to know.
