Cancer is pain. For all parties involved. There is no escaping it. It is always there taking from us. I didn't know how much cancer can take everything away from you until, at seven months pregnant and a week after getting engaged to the love of my life, I learned my person, my best friend, had cancer. Advanced stage rectal cancer and no insurance until January first. And to make things worse, I eventually learned my mom was fighting a similar battle. All this just months before my baby is due.

This story is real. It is the raw emotion of a battle I began fighting and one I fight to this day.

I am Hannah Medina and this is my story. A story of love, happiness, motherhood, and sadness. Fear and anger for the things that happen to people who do not deserve it. And yet, despite all the sadness, I have never been sadder or more full of love.
