In a kingdom stuck in a prolonged winter because of the dark sorcery of a vengeful witch, Alanna met a group of rebels and their dragons.
Tristan, the rebel's leader, kept his own secret, and Alanna realized she had fallen for him and his warm embrace.
When the kingdom fell deeper into darkness, Alanna knew she had to fight to survive, and she had to do it with all her memories of what was good in her life.
