One month after defeating the elder brain Gale finds himself alone and heartbroken after Tav left him for Astarion.
He meets Remeyra, a feisty half-elf with a hatred for wizards and eyes focused on revenge.
Keeping true to Gale's character in game, he quickly gets attached to Remeyra and his new goal becomes helping her in her adventures.
But what they don't know is that their journey to Baldur's Gate will be troublesome.
author's note: since Gale falls in love with Tav the second we pull him out of that portal, i wanted to keep that same energy throughout this story. I thinks it's both funny and endearing for him to be like that.

As the Ash Settles, is my take on what happens to the group of companions after saving Baldur's Gate. As the ash settles and the drinks are pouring a familiar sensation washes over our Tav, the very same one that compelled her to attack poor Alfira in her slumber, perhaps defeating her sister was not just denying her father but in fact taking back her rightful spot as leader of the Bhaalspawn, perhaps Withers was indeed wrong. Questions left unanswered while still having to find a special artifact for Astarion to walk and in the sun and still beating heart to fear Karlach. Rated M for Mature. This story follows these two elves, both scarred from their pasts, both determined not to fall in love or anything so frivolous, along with a well-spoken wizard and a tiefling pulled straight from the Hells, as they journey to Baldur's Gate and try not to die in the process.
