Beneath her sharp intellect and witty demeanor lie unseen scars from a troubled past. Struggling with the lingering effects of her abusive father and her indifferent mother, Nicko finds solace in the stability of her friends and the unexpected mentorship of her geography teacher, Mr. Davies who, in-turn, finds himself a foster-dad at 28.
