Sometimes our life isn't the way we want it. It happens, we don't always get what we want. Is asking to live in one place for over a year to much to ask? In Darcy Ryan's life it is. Due to her Father's job, Darcy and her family has to move from state to state, and on occasion country to country.
Darcy's single wish is to live in one place, and build friendships that will last a lifetime, not just a few months. Finally she is told she will be living in a single place for two years, Darcy feels like her life is finally coming together.
In this story Darcy will learn more about herself, and others through experiences that would never have been possible without the help of her new friends. Darcy will discover the truth about her family, who she wants to be with, and most importantly who she wants to be. All thanks to That Special Dirt Road.

Darcy Pierce was a normal girl, living in the big city. She wanted to have a quiet life, and the only way for her to do that was to leave and move to a small town in Texas. Darcy knew her parents wouldn't be happy, nor would her brothers, sisters, and niece, but she wanted to get away. Jeremy Renner was a closed off man that stayed to himself. He and his little girl lived on a farm, and he took care of the farm and sold eggs and whatever plants he harvested on his land. He was very busy, but he wasn't one to ask people for help.
