Sometimes our life isn't the way we want it. It happens, we don't always get what we want. Is asking to live in one place for over a year to much to ask? In Darcy Ryan's life it is. Due to her Father's job, Darcy and her family has to move from state to state, and on occasion country to country.
Darcy's single wish is to live in one place, and build friendships that will last a lifetime, not just a few months. Finally she is told she will be living in a single place for two years, Darcy feels like her life is finally coming together.
In this story Darcy will learn more about herself, and others through experiences that would never have been possible without the help of her new friends. Darcy will discover the truth about her family, who she wants to be with, and most importantly who she wants to be. All thanks to That Special Dirt Road.

Then it seemed her mother just got with every guy after that to cover up the fact that Darcy wanted to know the truth.
