When you grow up in certain areas, violence doesn't bother you. That's especially true with nineteen year old twins, Selene and Sotero Torres. The twins know all about maintenance and adapting, being the primary caretakers and guardians of their younger siblings since age thirteen. Working and taking whatever odd job there is to get enough to provide. They know how to run away from any place around, people included. Sotero, being the twin brother, he tries to keep his twin sister, Selene, safe but it's hard when his way of acceptance and income is with drug violent criminals. Selene lacks trust with everybody and everything, even her own family. She does what she has to for her family with no hesitation but she does wonder what else she can be.

Their lives change when Selene gets a job and gets mixed up with twenty-two year old Joben Abara. He is known in multiple groups, rumor of womanizer behaviors, and his charismatic tactics that gets him wherever he wants to be. Yet, nobody knows anything about him that isn't a lie. The only thing that everyone knows is his addiction to the pills that fills him with an ecstasy of known delusions.
