"It's time to go, Lavender," he muttered, his voice thick with emotions that he couldn't quite decipher. It was enough for her to hear, and it felt like a dagger twisting in her chest.
She detached herself from him, staring at his back, wishing he would just turn around and say something-anything. "Won't you say anything?" Ashii asked, her voice a fragile whisper laced with hope.
He glanced back at her, his chocolaty brown eyes filled with a depth that seemed to pull her in.
"I'm not capable of your love, Lavender. Your first love should be someone special, someone your age-not a broken man like me."
His words were like a heavy stone, crashing down and shattering her heart completely.
Staring into those soulful eyes, she nodded, tears still streaming down her face, blurring her vision. She understood, yet the ache in her chest refused to subside.
"If you can't be my first love, at least be my first kiss, Arjun,"
With that, she leaned in, pressing her lips against his. It was a moment suspended in time, a collision of longing and despair. The kiss was soft, tentative, yet it held the weight of four years of unspoken love. A kiss that tasted of tears and dreams, of everything they could never have.
Arjun's heart raced as he kissed her back, a mix of longing and regret swirling within him. He was a man at war with himself, and in that moment, he felt the walls he had built around his heart begin to crack. But he knew he couldn't let her in; he was a storm, and she deserved sunshine.
As they pulled away, Ashii searched his eyes for a glimmer of hope, but all she found was a reflection of her own heartbreak. "Goodbye, Arjun," she whispered, stepping back, her heart aching with every syllable.
"Goodbye, Lavender,"
