There are five factions:

Amity, the kind. Abnegation, the selfless. 
Dauntless, the brave.

   Aria Black was from Amity. You would think since she was from Amity she is full of peace, but is she? Her father Ethan Black was a leader in the council. Everyone knew Ethan as a powerful, intelligent, and strong man. But Aria saw him as the abusive terrible man that he truly was. She had been given the name Aria because it symbolized peace. Her father would treat them differently in the public eye. When Serena (Arias mother) had left, Ethan told everyone including Aria that she had died because he didn't want people to find out the truth as to why she had left them. 

   Soon every sixteen year old will take the aptitude test to help them choose which faction they fit in best. Will Aria choose to stay in amity or will she choose to betray her father and leave?

{BOOK ONE} There are five factions. Each had their own reasoning for thinking why the war had happened. Dauntless; cowardice and fear. They strive to be brave, fearless. Erudite; ignorance. They strive for intellect, to be smart and curious. Candor; deception. They strive to be honest. Amity; they blamed the war itself along with fighting. They strive to be kind, forgiving, peaceful. Abnegation; selfishness. So they strive to be selfless. Dauntless are our police. Erudite are our teachers. Candor is the law. Amity are the farmers. And Abnegation are our government. I would sit on the ground everyday, wearing my yellow dress with black sandals. Wasn't the best thing for me. Dresses made my shoulders to broad, especially the flowing ones. When I was home alone, or with my mother, I would wear I tight black shirt and white shorts. No one would really approve, mostly because they were Candor colours along with the fact it's not... welcoming enough. I never understood Amity, not because of the kindness and the peacefulness; well, mostly the peacefulness. Whenever it should come down to defending ourselves or walking away. We walked away. It confused me. Maybe I wasn't Amity enough to understand. Maybe I wasn't kind enough. Maybe, just maybe, I didn't belong here. So where do I belong?
