The title represents the year it plays in. 85 tells the story of a pool party in remote Germany where the 14 years old author and his best friend meet their girl friends and it gets hot. The dilemma of wanting to be cool and grown up but being totally unexperienced and physically unready is demonstrated in a humorous way.
