Elisabeth Schumacher could certainly claim to have a near-perfect life. In short, she was the portrait of talent and determination, and she would not let anyone take her away from her goal: running for the Red. But she was well aware that she was fighting a bigger battle than she was, it was a challenge to succeed in the most macho sport and in the most misbegotten environment of all, Formula One. 
    And it was on the night of 29 December 2013, sitting in the waiting room of the hospital in Grenoble, that just eight years, Elisabeth decides that the machines will be her whole life. 
    But there was only one thing she never counted on: love.
    ❝Who could ever leave me, darling?
