Three years ago, during the summer leading up to their sophomore year, Oakley Barlowe spent the summer at her best friend Penny's beach house. Alongside them was Penny's twin brother, Atlas, who Oakley was happily dating. It was an unforgettable summer filled with pure joy. But tragedy struck just a week before they were supposed to leave, during a party where things went horribly wrong.

Three years later 18-year-old Oakley finds herself alone. Atlas is gone, and her friendship with Penny is fractured beyond repair; Penny blames Oakley for Atlas's death and refuses to speak to her. Battling anxiety and depression, Oakley can't shake the feeling that Atlas's death wasn't just an accident.

Driven by a need for closure and Penny's forgiveness, Oakley looks into the events of that fateful night, uncovering secrets that threaten to unravel everything they once believed.
