Light in the Shadow - Book 1 This story follows Will and Nico right after the end of BoO. I have read a lot Solangelo stories all of them are good, but, none that have really gone the way that I have imagined so i decided to write my own. BTW, I have never written anything before. So, i apologize in advance if i make any mistakes. The characters in the story are of course entirely owned by Rick Riordan without which we would not be here reading this today. Please feel free to leave comments. I never wrote anything before so any advise would be appreciated. I'm not entirely sure how the age of consent works in all 50 states so for the purpose of this story Nico is 18 and Will is 20 (just in case :). This story has man x man content. Everything was going fine in the rebellion until the prince showed up. Or, according to the leader at least. Prince William claimed to "know intel about the enemies" and "be able to fight" and "not have a crush on the injured soldier boy he found on the journey." Yeah, right, Will. You keep telling yourself that. Meanwhile, Nico--Soldier 1017--is only trying to survive the night. With nothing and no one to save him from his upcoming execution for failing to follow orders, Nico's future looks pretty bleak. A raid and a rebellion bring them together. Every day they fight their pasts and their futures, and every day they promise to each other that they will make it to the sun, to the stars, and to the sky. Edited January 2024. "Why am I here, Dionysus?" Nico asked. "Using my government, huh?" Mister D said. "Did I use that right? Actually, nevermind, I don't really care what you kids are saying now. Listen, I need a favor from both of you." "It's nice to see you, too," Nico said. "No it's not," the wine god said. "I'm sober and you're a pain in my ass. Mouthwash counts as me not being allowed to drink alcohol, too, you know? I don't even have to try drinking it, and it turns into Diet Coke. That's some bullshit. And I can say that without getting in trouble because you're adults now." "D," Nico said. "The favor?" "That was rude. I listened to all your problems and dreams, the least you could do is hear me out," he frowned mockingly. Nico smiled. Despite his arrogant demeanor, Nico began to appreciate how much he truly cared as he grew older. Not that anyone would ever hear Dionysus admit that. "I need you guys to watch a kid for me," he said. OR Nico and Will have been through so much together. Wars, quests, and even Tartarus. But its been a few years, and their time to rest is over. Dionysus has a job for them and they quickly find out that caring for a young demigod is more difficult could have guessed. TW: Graphic depictions of violence and use of slurs.
