The love of Isolde's life is missing. She was there one night and in the morning, she was gone. Nobody else seems to notice Esme's disappearance. In fact, nobody seems to remember her at all. Isolde-And her best friend, Ever-are beginning to think she's crazy when they finally find some semblance of a clue; Esme's graduation certificate and, besides it, a comically large flower petal. Isolde finds herself in a word that had seemed so small, now filled with tricks and traps she had never even heard of before, yet one thing shines clearly in her mind; Esme. Isolde do whatever it takes to get her back, even if it means making deals with the most dangerous half-mortal on earth. Esme doesn't remember anything. She's stuck with amnesia after a traumatic head injury while rock climbing, with her only solace being Oleander, one of her friends before the incident. Now she has to remeet and befriend everyone she was friends with before, and yet something doesn't quite seem right. Nobody's story lines up with anyone else's, let alone Oleander, and Esme begins to question the saving grace image she had granted them before...
