Si Calvin ay nagtatrabaho sa isang sikat na kumpanya, ang Evergreen Techno, kung saan ito ang pinakamalaking pagawaan ng mga AI or Artificial Intelligence robot sa Pilipinas. Halos pitong taon na rin siyang nagtatrabaho sa kumpanyang ito at wala siyang balak iwan ang naging dahilan kung bakit hanggang ngayon ay nakakakain pa rin siya ng tatlong beses sa isang araw. Malaki rin ang pasasalamat niya sa scientist na si Dr. Herlim, na siyang nakakita sa kaniya noong nahimatay siya sa construction site na dati niyang pinagtatrabahuhan.

Hindi nakapagtapos si Calvin ng kolehiyo dahil kinakailangan nitong magtrabaho para mapakain ang apat niyang nakababatang kapatid at makabili ng gamot para sa maysakit niyang nanay na kalaunan ay namatay rin. Ulila na rin siya sa tatay buhat nang mamatay ito sa aksidente noong siya'y labing pitong taong gulang pa lamang. Tumanda siyang binata at wala nang balak pang mag-asawa. Hindi naman ganoon katanda dahil siya'y tatlumpu't limang taong gulang lang.

Nahihiya rin siyang humingi ng tulong sa mga kapatid niya dahil may sari-sarili nang pamilya ang mga ito kaya nagtatrabaho siya upang makakain, mabayaran ang bahay na tinitirhan, at mabili ang mga gusto at pangagailangan niya.

Isa rin siyang manananghal sa sirko. Kilala siya sa tawag na 'The Illusionist'. Ang pag-mamagic ay natutunan niya sa kaniyang ama na dati namang nagtatanghal sa perya.

Ngunit hindi niya akalain na isang araw, makakasaksi siya ng mga bagay na hindi niya inakalang makikita niya sa modernong panahon ng 2039.
