He died, his breath stolen by the battlefield, his eyes closing in a final surrender. Karna lay there, lifeless and broken. But in the void of nothingness, a voice whispered softly in his ear.

"I will give you another chance." The voice, melodious and calm, echoed through the shadows. "A final chance, Ashwatthama. But you won't remember, only see."

Far away, Krishna, the boy with the peacock feather, watched with a knowing smile, distant from the two older boys. Another chance had been given. A chance to rewrite the deadliest war, to avoid the bloodshed. He hoped this time, the son of the Sun wouldn't set. He prayed the ansh of Mahadev wouldn't bring destruction. And above all, he wished his elder cousin wouldn't be broken.

"Bhrata Duryodhan," he thought with a faint smile, "I heard your last plea."

Elsewhere, a bond blossomed between two boys with piercing gazes, arrows sharper than needles, and grins as bright as the sun. But when obstacles arose, their resolve was tested.

"What are you?" His eyes widened in disbelief.
"I am a human." Confusion clouded his voice.
"Y-You are a... Kshatriya!" He stammered, his voice trembling.
"I am not a Kshatriya." Anger simmered beneath the surface.

Was their friendship already in the ruins?

"Stop following me! Just let me go and leave me in peace!" she pleaded, struggling against his unrelenting grip. "I won't. Not today, not ever. Not after finding you again," he said firmly. "I don't belong here. This isn't my place. Let me go," she begged, desperation in her voice. He shook his head. "You've always belonged. Since the beginning of time, we were meant to be together." "You'll never convince me," she snapped. "I won't be part of this farce or let you treat me like an object without a will of my own." "It's not a farce. It's as real as the sun, and you will be part of it-whether you want to or not. Your only desire should be our companionship," he declared. "Please," she whispered, one last plea as her hand inched toward her waistband. "The only thing left to do... do it for her, if not for love. " he ordered. "For love?" she murmured, shaken. Then her expression hardened. "But love was never an option," she spat, her voice dripping with disgust-before she struck with full force. It wasn't supposed to end like this. Anwesha-once a soldier by choice, not birth-had embraced duty for her nation. But one failed mission led her to the dark waters of the Ganges. Caught in a whirlpool, she accepted death like an old friend. Yet, she didn't die. She woke up in another timeline, but here, she didn't belong. A misfit, a lone coal in a chest of gold. She wasn't chosen by fate, nor favored by the gods-just an accident struggling to return home. But every path back was closed. Trapped, she resolved to be a silent observer. Yet fate had other plans. She crossed paths with the Scions of Kuru, a dynasty shaping history itself. She hadn't intended to get involved, but now she was entangled in their world, for better or worse. Can she survive in this era, or will she find her way back? More importantly-who is she, really? And why her? After all, nothing in this world, or beyond it, is mere coincidence. β€’ Book I ~ Stuck In Time Series β€’

"So, should I take it as a 'yes' Dharani?", Acharya asked me looking straight into my eyes as if he is reading my expressions. I immediately looked down trying to compose myself and hide my feelings before he actually reads them. "Or would you like to take your word bac...." "It's a yes," I replied confidently. Taking your word back is the worst thing you could do in a royal family. It is a sign of weakness and is just unacceptable. Moreover, I am pretty sure Arjun would never agree to marry me. So why should I be the one to reject. "What about you, Arjun?" asked King Indra turning towards his son. "You remember what you told yesterday right?" he said signaling Arjun about something. The room was filled with absolute silence and I realized that the only sound that could be heard is that of my bangles, and that is because my right hand is slightly shivering. "Umm...father....I, " Arjun stuttered perhaps for the first time in his life, "accept....accept... this marriage proposal." I looked at Arjun in disbelief. My eyes widened and I didn't know how but my hand was already on my forehead. I didn't expect this from him. Why in the world would he want to marry me? He hates the way I look at the world. He wants everyone to be as heartless as him and I would never be able to do that. "Dangerously kind" is the word he used to describe me a while ago. We wouldn't even make good friends, let alone life partners. How in the world could we live together? "So it's official. You both are going to get married," king Indra said smiling while Acharya was writing something on a paper as if he already knew this is not going to be all love love. "This is more of an agreement king," he said as he wrote down, "and they knew it. They were eavesdropping on our conversation from the beginning." True, we heard them. We understood what they had planned, but we didn't want to get married. At least I didn't.....

Advika, 25, recently retired from her perilous career as a spy for the Indian government. She's faced trauma that most couldn't bear in a lifetime. Now, all she craves is the one thing her life lacked-normalcy. A quiet, boring life free from the shadows of her past. But she'd never admit it, even to herself. To desire simplicity feels like weakness. Yet, deep down, that's all she wants-something real, something safe. Karna, born a suta but kshatriya by heart, is a man who defied everything society forced upon him. Humiliated, cursed, and denied his rightful place, all he ever longed for was to learn weaponry-archery, his true calling. Though denied by every royal and guru, he carved his own path, mastering the art despite them all. Now, he seeks the respect and glory he's been denied, determined to claim his place in Hastinapur, the very kingdom that rejected him. He's no longer just a man-he's an enigma, a force of sheer will. But what happens when Karna, through mysterious forces, arrives in Advika's house? In a clash of instinct and fear, she attacks first, questions later. Their worlds, separated by centuries and desires, suddenly collide. One seeking peace, the other seeking glory. Both wanting the impossible. Advika wanted a simple life after the storms of her past. But maybe it was too much to ask. Karna wanted respect and honor in the land that spurned him. But maybe that, too, was too much to ask. Though their lives are worlds apart, something powerful connects them, pulling them into a moment neither can explain. Two souls, bound by destiny, stand before each other in an era foreign to them both. And as they each seek what they desire most, one truth becomes clear-when the universe conspires to grant your deepest wishes, there's always a price. The question is: at what cost?

"Ouchh," I cried trying to balance. I looked up at him with soft eyes, flushed cheeks. He looked into my eyes with his knitted ones. His hair lying over his sweaty forehead. I never presumed to glimpse him this close. His photographs conveyed his good looks but his dominating aura was hard to handle. I was feeling scared to even breathe in his arms. Bringing his fingers to my face he gently pushed hair strands behind my ear. I lowered my eyes feeling extremely shy. "Sambhal kar chaliye zara, har waqt bahein nahi hongi hamari sambhalne ko," he said in a scratchy tone. There was a hint of taunt present. I knitted my brows to his words and quickly matched his aura. "Hume chahiye bhi nahi," I said glaring at him. He shot his eyebrows a little and I pushed him to leave angrily. Turning around I stepped up on another dumbbell and slipped over it again. I threw my hands in the air for support and once again found him snaking my waist and pulling my back closer to his chest. "Are you sure," he asked over my ears. I angrily looked back at him, found him smirking. "Baahon mein girte girte, mohabbat me mat giriyega hamare," he whispered looking into my eyes. "Kabhi nahi," I replied and left. I royally ignored his taunt only to end up marrying him. Day by day my feelings for him grew stronger though finding happiness was becoming a risky game. But I was heartbroken upon discovering that he only married me out of pity and loved someone else who he was to marry. Not having parents from young age now made me helpless. It felt good to leave home where my family cared for me all these years, after my parents. I did not want to go back and be a burden again. But living this life with him didn't seem fruitful either. This is love story of Tejas Pratap Rathore and Sunaina Maan Singh. Storyline takes place in the early years of 21st century (2001). A beloved saga tying them together in love and commitment whilst they dwell over misunderstandings and growing feelings.
