It's funny, really. It's funny how as kids we always played these zombie games and thought it would be so cool to be in a zombie apocalypse. We tried to figure out who out of our friend groups would die first, and who would live to the end.

We were fascinated as young boys by the shooting games where you would blow a zombie's head off without a second thought. They were monsters. Nothing more. You barely thought of how they were once human. Because they weren't. It was just a game. Or it was just a movie.

But when it became real life, you could see the family photos of the zombie you just killed. You could see the dead children who had been beaten to death by their own mother. The same mother whose skull you just bashed open on her kitchen floor for trying to rip your jaw apart. They were all once alive. And the outbreak ended their lives. They could have been your cousin, your friend, your neighbor. It could have been you. But you hold on to the fact that it wasn't. And because of that, you go on.

___

Set in 2037, two years after the worldwide bacterial infection called The Cure started, Mason Martinez and his two buddies try their best to survive in this post-apocalyptic world. But when Mason finds out about a so-called "safe zone" about 4 cities from where he stands, Mason strives to find it. Even if that means he has to cross the 4 main factions of his area. The Lab Coats, The Mercenaries, The Raiders, and the worst of all, The Salvation. And to find this safe zone, Mason is willing to do whatever it takes.

Trigger warning - Severely sensitive topics. Around 25 years ago, an unknown virus plagued the Earth- targeting none other than the cells responsible for constructing one's genetic code. Humans, animals, plants- any living matter that comes in contact with it quickly faces its immense mutational power, sparking nothing but unruly destruction. This living nightmare demanded more than a simple adaptation, it forced a complete overhaul on daily life. Yet, despite humanity's best efforts to adapt to this new system- cities plummeted to the ground, nations were obliterated in chaotic arrays of fire, countries infected by the scourge of madness brought about by meaningless war. Humanity was driven to the brink of extinction. In a desperate attempt to survive these conditions, humanity came up with something to protect them. Colonies. A radius considered a "Safe Zone", as it incapacitates any infected attempting to breach its perimeter. Its the perfect environment to rebuild what's left of society. On the flip-side, the infected create nests of their own, producing genetic amalgams beyond human comprehension, and attracting many others of their kind. It is assumed that their sole objective is to propagate. Consume. These are called "Contamination Zones", and their increased numbers have caused dozens of Colonies, and outposts alike, to suffer breaches and irreversible changes all over the continent. The infected are ruthlessly growing stronger. Rhys, the Warden of Zamaton Colony, has taken measures to prevent the catastrophic events from ever reaching their quiet life, where Kayden Moss, the survivalist in question, has lived for the past 3 years. If all goes well, they'll avoid these breaches, Or so it seems...
Operation Raccoon City by ToxicRawr7869
13 parts Complete Mature
Same as my other 4 books I wrote Resident evil 0, 1, 2 and 3. This is Operation Raccoon City, I will be watching the gameplay on youtube, since I do not own this game. (It does tie super well with the storyline, especially of Resident Evil 2 and 3) I will be writing it through, some in my own words and some as per the game. I am not going into deep, deep details either... Like this is just a enjoyment for me to write and publish for the heck of it. It's not going to be perfect. There is no movies or books that I seen that are really close to the games, story type. Took it into my own hands basically. If you like it you like it if not then not. I'm writing this because I adore Resident Evil games and felt like it would be fun for me to play and write about the story of the games. (It is copywritten from the game) (Rights reserved to capcom) Now the people that have never played the games here is what this one is about... The U.S.S. Team was deployed to get rid of any evidence of Umbrella Corporation being involved in the outbreak. They go through numerous challenges throughout the whole time there in the city getting rid of all the evidence and some of team seem to be willing to backstab Umbrella. Hmm wonder how that will play out for them... SpecOps Echo Six, an elite group from the U.S. Government. They were deployed to contain the incident and neutralize it. As well as rescue civilians and get information on Umbrella. Faced with a bunch of Bioweapons every step they take as well and U.S.S Solder's. Will they survive?
A Different Virus - Laura's Story by CrystalScherer

This is a second view point from my original story - A Different Virus - Heartfire. I highly advise reading the original book first. Intro: Laura was a happy child without a care in the world. She loved her parents and life was perfect. Nothing seemed like it could go wrong. People started talking about a bad flu that was spreading and sending some into a coma. Her parents grew worried and stocked the house in case of a pandemic. Months later another virus appeared. Her family was shocked when the news people started reporting that zombies were actually real and not just part of a horror movie. They were appearing in every country. Her parents reassured her that none of the zombie sightings had been anywhere close to them. Her life is turned upside down when her father ends up in hospital with the bad flu and mother exiles her upstairs for her safety. She was never allowed downstairs again. Weeks pass and the streets become deserted with the exception of the red eyed zombies that wandered around. One night she notices a swiftly moving figure with glowing blue eyes in the street below. Should she call out or remain silent? Is this fleeting shadow something that can help her or could this mysterious figure be even more dangerous than the zombies themselves? ---------------------- Ranked #1 Apr 10, 2018 (A huge thank you to all who read and voted!) This story is copyright and built from my own imagination. This book was a special request from someone who helped me a lot. This viewpoint has less action than the original. The cover was made by @All_AboutAssymetry. A huge thanks to her! Copyright September 2016. All Rights Reserved. Readers may not copy, alter, or steal this story. Becoming Them: A Zombie Novel by xNadiyahx

What would you do if one second you were struggling to survive with your friends and mother in tow, and then you wake up to find yourself with a group of strangers the next - all during the country's takeover of blood-thirsty zeds? Megan couldn't believe her eyes. Her brain was muddled with confusion she couldn't get rid of, no matter how many times those strangers reassured her and explained what happened. But she had to accept it, even though it didn't make any sense to her. Megan had been with her mother every step of the way since everything turned to chaos, beginning just a year before, and now she was nowhere to be seen. And on top of that, she had the zeds to deal with. Ghastly creatures that used to be human, carrying a virus that's spread through a constant hunger for flesh from the host, spreading through bites and scratches. It didn't exactly make it easy to prevent getting infected. Things could have been worse, though, Megan thought. She could've been left all alone to ponder over her thoughts and fear over the future. It'll only be within the time spent with the new group will she find out that everything's not as happy and welcoming as it had seemed. These people had a few secrets of their own, including the real reason they took Megan in. She would soon find out just how far people would go to ensure their own survival. -------------- Please check out my first finished novel. Hope you enjoy this zombie story and let me know what you think in the comments! x
The Virus Within (Original rough draft) by CrystalScherer
144 parts Complete
Back by popular request! The 2017 rough draft of The Virus Within! (Caution: Contains massive plotholes that were fixed in the polished The Virus Within Series. Grammar issues are present, particularly missing commas.) What do you do when you are one of the infected? The virus in my blood is trying to steal my humanity. It alters my very thoughts and reactions. It taunts me by tempting me with desires that it planted in my brain. These bloodthirsty desires would lead to my demise if I ever gave in. I have more in common with the zombies than with humans at this point. Even the fallen zombies accept me as one of their own. Blood is required to retain my grip on sanity, but the sweet-smelling blood from humans is a short path to madness. Human blood is to be avoided at all costs. Humankind around the world was driven close to extinction by the sudden appearance of the zombies, yet small groups of survivors constantly manage to appear and put my control to the test. -------------------------- This is a standalone zombie book. It has nothing to do with A Different Virus. I wanted to try a book with an easily irritated main character and a nutcase secondary character. This book has a slightly darker outlook at the beginning than my usual stories, but it has some humor further along. Definitely not a horror story, although it has its share of action. 4 updates a week: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday! Copyright April 2017. All Rights Reserved. Readers may not copy, alter, or steal this story. Fanfictions are allowed to use my *world* and *zombie ranks* as long as credit is given.
The Sisterdale Six: A Bag Men Story by JulianTraas
1 part Complete Mature
40 years ago, the world as we know it was destroyed by hordes of the undead. But the threat isn't gone. It has evolved. In the year 2027, the American Government buckled under the weight of millions of undead, whose inexorable push Westward drove away and killed every living thing until only nothingness was left. Many years later, most of the survivors (and their descendants) believe that the infected have been wiped off the face of the Earth. They are mistaken. What the scientists and researchers of the Republic of Sacramento eventually came to understand was that the virus had not been eradicated. Instead, it had changed, become something much worse. Its new form, the Vox Humana Virus, is so called because of its distinct evolutionary advantages over its predecessor: rather than kill the host, VHV in a sense disables the host-body's linkup with the brain, rendering it a puppet in service to the parasite. Because these new "Sleepers" do not shamble or groan or bear any characteristics that would easily distinguish them from a normal human being, they can now infect entire populations before anyone even knows they have arrived. Sacramento's response to this new threat was the institution of the Bureau of Public Health, an innocuously named super-agency whose staff are granted authority above and beyond any other citizen. The Agents, colloquially known as "Bag Men," are the gatekeepers, it is they who identify and exterminate Sleepers. Into this mess Troy Myers will step, one day. However, in 2040, he finds himself in the badlands bordering the cities of the new Tri-Texan Confederacy, looking for something, maybe a place to call home. Maybe, inside all this death, there will be a chance for peace. In the meantime, the kill count racks up and up. If Troy wants to live, he'll have to pay for his time with bullets. The Bag Men series is written by Silas Jackson and J.R. Traas. Find us: https://www.facebook.com/SACBPH https://twitter.com/wordofmypeople

This story is an outcome of a drastically declining future. When humanity was completely lost and there was no one left on Earth taking care for it or others. Humans have become soo busy in their own lives that they have completely forgotten about others and even other lives on Earth. So many species are now extinct because of them and even though life is almost over we still not able to see the right thing. If we had seen things in the right way the right perspective we would've have alot to share and alot to give . We would've had inventions quite earlier the 22nd century but interestingly we were losing everything.....
