Was everything worth the money?

Nora wasn't sure anymore.

After being asked to chronicle the wedding of the season, Nora Johnson finds herself in Fussen, Germany. A picturesque town settled in the magnificent Bavarian Alps, she thought her job couldn't get any easier. All she had to do was talk to the couple, take pictures of the wedding, and then leave for the next job.

Only, the couple is her older sister and ex-boyfriend, the wedding is an absolute nightmare down memory lane, and the couple has effectively paid her to stay for a two-month stint in hell. The only thing that could make the trip even more crazy is the stranger that generously hosted the wedding in his private castle; Ulrich Schmidt.

As Nora pours herself into her work and tries her best to avoid the elephant in the room, she finds herself equally drawn to Ulrich and primally afraid of him. There's something strange happening and try as she might to avoid Ulrich, her family, and her past, Nora can't seem to stay away.

Especially when Ulrich's grin shows such devilish promise.

In the quiet, superstitious town of Hollow's End, whispers circulate about a boy who lives deep in the woods-a boy cursed with half the face of a skeleton, feared by all who dare to speak his name. The townspeople warn that the forest is haunted, urging everyone to stay far from its shadowy borders. Lily, a daring 19-year-old who has never believed in old tales, sneaks into the woods one night, driven by her unshakable curiosity. There, she meets Kael, a mysterious and brooding figure whose life has been marred by a curse that forced him into isolation. Kael, now 23, lives alone in a secluded cabin, hiding behind a mask that conceals the skeletal half of his face. To his surprise, Lily isn't frightened by his appearance-she sees past the curse to the man he truly is. As the two grow closer, their bond begins to challenge the very beliefs that have kept Kael isolated for years. But the curse that haunts Kael runs deeper than anyone in the town knows. As Lily delves into the mystery of what really happened to Kael, she discovers that the curse isn't just about his appearance-it's tied to a dark secret that could destroy them both. In The Phantom of the Woods, Lily and Kael must face the unknown together, unearthing the truth behind the curse and testing whether love can break through the barriers of fear and isolation. Their journey leads them into the heart of the forest's darkness, where secrets, danger, and the very essence of Kael's humanity are at stake.

'They sealed the deal by planning on getting you married to him...' Blake's words ran through her mind repeatedly. Kathleen's world comes crashing down when she finds out that her mom and dad arranged a marriage for her with none other than her rival since middle school, Nathan Heinrich. She never, once in her life, thought that she'd be married to Nathan. To add more ridicule to it, she hasn't seen him in the past 10 years nor is she planning to see him till their marriage or so she thinks. Nathan Heinrich is none other than your typical average player who has the whole world under his feet. With his charming good looks and sparkling green eyes, he could get any dame in this world. Not really into the thought of a married life with a wife and kids, he is the type who really wants to enjoy his bachelor life along with the playboy reputation. What if his parents thought that the best way to tame Nathan's playboy habits is to get him hitched to none other than his arch rival, Kathleen Holzknecht? She has got the money, the looks, the charm and everything, but why Nathan despises her is totally something ridiculous. With Kathleen storming into his life like a whirlwind, will Nathan change for good and leave all his habits of sleeping around and be the man of Kathleen's dreams or will bitter memories of past affect their life after marriage? Read more to find out what happens..... A/N This was my very first story on Wattpad, guys. This first few chapters would be short and not really...good, I'd say. There's an edited version of this story, if you can't handle grammatical errors and short chapters. On a lighter note, thanks for giving Unexpected Love a chance!
