Dan Howell has never been anything special. He's an average guy with an average house, attending an average school with average grades. The only thing is he's gay, and that's not necessarily uncommon these days. He'd never really said anything about it, rather preferred keeping it to himself for the time being. He's always been happy, sometimes too nice to others who didn't even deserve it.
Phil Lester isn't special. He never has been. He's not even average. He doesn't think himself worthy of the beautiful world he lives in. Depressed, yet observant, Phil looks on from the sidelines as everything happens in front of his eyes. He's bullied for his sexuality, which causes him to start to believe the vile words of the other kids at school. His trust issues don't help either.
When dark and light collide, what do you get?
