The Octet follows eight genetically engineered teenagers who were created in a secret U.S. military program. Each was infused with elemental DNA-water, fire, earth, electricity, and more-and raised by host families until the government forcibly retrieved them at age seventeen. The story centers on Rosaline Vale, an electricity‑based subject who has spent her life unknowingly suppressing her true nature. The Octet is a dark, character‑driven sci‑fi story with touches of romance, about eight engineered teens forced into a government program that turns these teens, into assassins, not people. Rosaline, the lightning‑born protagonist, struggles with trauma, identity, and the growing danger within the group-especially from Volt, whose connection to her is both mysterious and deadly
