Bug: trapped in a videogame
The world of video games was fun, joyful, and endlessly entertaining. However, it was always an illusion-everything was fake in the end. Companies tried to create better games, but one surpassed them all. Immersition Company, the most powerful tech corporation in the world, developed a revolutionary video game. Despite its innovation, the company decided to test it first. Among the few people who applied for the trial, Max was one of them. Scientists claimed the test was complete. The probability of any error was just 0.001%. Anyone would have said the code was flawless. But reality proved otherwise. A catastrophic error occurred inside the game. Whoever died in the game, died in the real world. The job Max had always dreamed of became a digital nightmare. Now, he must face deadly trials, mind-twisting puzzles, and nearly impossible enemies. The only way out: collect all the shards scattered throughout the game. Max must change-or perish. "I'm allergic to bullshit." ♧♣♧♣♧♣♧♣♧♣♧ Maya Scoren is unique. But she's not the only one, there are nine others supposed to be besides her; two of which never made it past their mother's womb and one who's incompatible. What makes them special, is also what makes them dangerous. Ripped from their normal, day-to-day,school life, family and friends with no warning, they find out who they are. And why they're alive. But fitting back into that normal life they missed so much is proving to be hard. Especially for Maya, who has a tendency to get herself in trouble and extraordinary situations ENTIRELY her fault. (She'd rather die than admit that of course) Old life brings the problem of boys, unwanted advances, homework, teachers and of course, a boyfriend with she had a rather uncharacteristic meet-up. Scott, Sed, Andy are her childhood friends all the way with her in this. Almost all the way. They didn't expect her to change or to come back at all and they are having a HARD time adjusting to the new Maya. She's dangerous, she's hot and she knows it. She has done a lot in the past two years that will catch up to her and stuff after that which refuses to stay hidden. Controlling CEOs, sensitive boyfriend, an obssessed boss is just the tip of the iceberg. And I'm not even touching the problems at her school. Will all this unwanted attention put her in trouble? L.O.V.E.
100 years ago, amidst WW3's nuclear bombing, a deadly virus was released in the atmosphere and nearly wiping out the humanity. It lives inside the human brain thriving on the empathy receptors, leading to irrational behaviour and ultimately brain death. To slow the damage, scientists created L.O.V.E, short for Living Off Vital Emotions, a nanovaccine that numbs the virus and switches off all strong emotions. As a last resort and with a dying planet, the Supreme Government created the City, a place to contain the infected survivors suitable for the experiment. Those in the first stages of illness became ideal candidates to receive the neuroinhibitor. Having their feelings restrained and their memory altered, those who come of age are designated a life partner through a Selection process, thus preserving the humankind. A few decades after the trial had started, scientists had a major breakthrough. The nanites, which are highly chemically reactive organisms, are changing their bio-engineered purpose when dopamine levels are high. With a new generation of nanoids, stronger and smarter to fight the battle, the virus doesn't have a chance. Many attempts were made to create a man-made version of synthetic dopamine and each time the outcome was a disaster. Their goal is to create new generations, immune to the virus. These are called Purebloods, the offsprings of those who find pure love, the only cure to save them from a violent death. Running out of time, the Experiment entered in its final stages. To minimize the threats, the Colonies have sent their best soldiers to oversee the trial and protect its key subjects. If only things were going according to plan, or better...stay hidden. Secrets and lies builds on this country and Ian is yet to find that who killed his father is who wants to kill him. As he unravels secrets in his own hallucination, Ian awakes as the lost sorcerer. The sorcerer who will take back humanity for what it once was. To live in a society not perfect, but happy. For happy is not perfect. After around ten years of making sure my neural system was intact, the metal surrounding me grew with my body and the batteries didn't poison my immune system, I was given the option of getting out of CARESS, also known as Centre of Adolescents in Rehab after the Effect of Scientific Surgery, and live a normal life. This is the life you have always wanted. Welcome to your new beginning..." Akropolis is a city at the end of times, a sanctuary where the brightest and best have been housed since the last Great War. A genome defect has afflicted the majority of the population and scientists are desperate to find a cure. In the meantime, man has found his own salvation in the form of the QUBIT (quantum processing bio-synthetic), an android that is capable of prolonging life almost indefinitely, and yet what makes them human in the first place has been lost in the transition. The ruling council believes that salvation is nigh, but whether that hope arrives in time is questionable.
