After encountering the JSDF, the people of the parallel Earth are soon in for a shock when they meet their alternate counterparts, especially the Parallel Americans. This was first written as a quasi-treatment for potential cinematic production. So, yes, there is little conflict, as in most such historical "what-if" works (Clemens's "Connecticut Yankee..."). But there are at least two such readily available: 1. The Senate might/would resist the suggested changes, especially the most powerful/richest. 2. Commodus might/would resist being sent away to primitive America as ambassador ( addressed in the sequel in my posted works here.) Maybe Dwayne Johnson could be enticed. LOL At least it would NOT be based on some comic book! And the five causes for the Empire's collapse are legitimate historically. (ref. eg. Gibbon) Might learn something about our current predicament...or would we?
