Rowan Faulkner has loved hockey her whole life. Growing up in northern BC, Canada, she was raised in a fully hockey household. Her father and older brother played, and so did she - until she left for Vancouver to pursue her communications degree. Playing hockey was a fun pastime, but cheering for her favourite NHL team is all she has time for now. It's her dream to work for the Vancouver Canucks social media team, but she can't help but feel like her dream is impossible. At 25, she feels like all her friends are ahead of her, and her lack of confidence (and degree) is starting to get to her.
Finley Hayes is the captain of the Vancouver Canucks in the NHL. The team hasn't made the playoffs in four years, since he was a rookie, and now they have finally made it again this year. He wants to be the best captain he can be, but is scared his quieter demeanour makes him a less worthy captain. His teammate and friend, Brett, tries to help him gain back his confidence by taking him out clubbing. It may also be Brett's way of trying to get them both laid, which Finley also wouldn't mind, because that could also help his confidence... right?
When Finley and Rowan meet, it's electric. They have a lot in common, make each other laugh, and both love hockey. That chemistry leads to a steamy moment on a balcony... until Rowan is whisked away by her friends, leaving Finley in the dust.
One kiss is all it took, and Finley can't get it out of his head. He didn't get her number, and it may be for the best since she was a fan of the team. It seems like she's gone forever... until he runs into her working at the arena for the Canucks media internship program.
Rowan cannot believe she got the internship, and she will NOT let a one time make-out ruin her chances of working for the team (no matter how incredible it was). Except as they talk more, it's starting to seem like maybe Finley is actually interested in her...
Will they be able to stick around for each other?
