Hi, babies I hope you guys love this collection of 21 poems.
This poetry collection was written to encapsulate the painstaking journey of growth and change that comes with adulthood. These poems encapsulate the feelings of sadness, hope, empowerment, disillusionment, nostalgia, fear, and anger experienced by women. These poems give voice to the women sometimes overlooked by society, the thought daughters who feel overlooked and want to escape from the harshness of society. These poems rarely express happiness because life is not made up of happy experiences but the raw sometimes painful emotions that force us to grow. I wish that women could relate to these narratives and find community in the stories woven.
These poems tackle real-world issues such as: the responsibilities of adulthood, the fear of mortality and regret for past decisions, loneliness, gender roles and societal expectations, racial identity and injustices, woman empowerment, love and family relations, generational trauma, loss and grief
I gained a lot of inspiration from Slyvia Plath, Lorna Goodison, and William Shakespeare, I hope the references and allusions are taken with love.
