Ever since Kisaki died Hanma has had a hard time sleeping, he still blames himself for letting his only friend die. The inability to sleep affected Hanma's work and sex life and with this, he sought help from his colleagues. Kakucho concerned about the decline in the workforce of Bonten, referred Hanma to his psychologist.

Kaori Sato, a renowned psychologist in Tokyo, was shocked to see Kakucho back in his office asking her to treat his colleague, Hanma. Despite knowing Bonten's background Kaori still agrees to treat Hanma due to her debt of gratitude to Kakucho. Unbeknownst to Kaori her sessions with Hanma will have consequences.

Hanma engaged in several psychotherapies and treatments but it didn't seem to work, until one session when he eventually fell asleep while his Kaori was talking, after that he thought that being around Kaori was the only time he fell asleep. Desperate Hanma requested private sessions.
