The Augmented and the Sorcerer

The sound of my inhale of air spur me to wake from my sleep. I ignore the stings in the back of eyes from the sudden brightness of the morning sun rays and sit up in my bed. It was a mistake to position the bed in front of the window.

The coldness of the floor makes its way up from my bare feet to the spine and radiates to all parts of my body, leaving the hair on body to stand up.

"Son, you paying attention?"
I look up at the screen and meet eyes with the Admiral.
"Harrison, repeat exactly what I said a second ago."
I can barely stop myself from scowling at Marcus for calling me by 'Harrison'.
"The mission you planned was completed perfectly. But there's just one problem. One of those filthy sorcerers wasn't affected. So we need to know why, meaning you are going to go find out......Are you pleased Admiral?"
I say. Marcus just gives me a smirk and shuts off communication.
