The Crimson Necromancer's Substitute

On the ninth day after Fen Lei's death, Li Yuan, the wanted anonymous necromancer on Plaillon, infiltrates the underworld to bring Fen Lei's soul back to the mortal realm. Having lived on Earth, where things beyond belief are nonexistent, Fen Lei does not believe Li Yuan can resurrect her. However, she still agrees to come with him.

After returning to the mortal realm with Li Yuan, Fen Lei discovers she has been brought to a different world. This world is called Plaillon, the coexisting universe of Earth ruled by magic.

For an unknown reason, Li Yuan asks Fen Lei to be his substitute. This means he will have to offer his body to her in order to resurrect her. Fen Lei refuses but has no other option either. And with that, the wanted anonymous necromancer, Li Yuan, performs the self-sacrifice ritual, paying with his own life to bring Fen Lei back to life.

As Fen Lei begins a new life in Li Yuan's body, she must act as him and must learn all of the magic techniques that are necessary for her to learn through the aid of He Jin, the only disciple of Li Yuan.

However, as a woman who has become a man, this will be difficult. Furthermore, life on Plaillon is vastly different from life on Earth. There are no phones. There is no electricity. There is no internet. She would rather be dead forever than live like this!

Fen Lei likes women, but the original owner of the body, Li Yuan, prefers men. Fen Lei, being in Li Yuan's body, uses the opportunity to flirt with women and with that one man, Shin Lu, a well-known and respected figure who is stoic and foul-mouthed and dislikes gay men.
