Danno, sent to a war to defend his homeland as one of the men of the country, but he'd rather call that experience a hell. After going through so much, he somehow managed to make it out alive from that burning hell and returned to Japan. Although every night he still get nightmares of how his companions died at war, some were killed so brutally that they don't even have the chance to get buried.
