Guts and Blackpowder: A wrathful god

It is 1812, and Napoleon's forces are on the run from the Russians. History has gone exactly how it has in our timeline until now when the Russian army suddenly stopped advancing, confusing the French, that is, until waves of random civilians and Russian troops randomly appear in large crowds be seemingly gone mad begin cannibalizing the French forcing them to continue their retreat, of only they knew this was the beginning of the second stage of the napolionic wars, the undead.

meanwhile, a few months into the future, somewhere in prussia, a young conscript and his regiment are currently traveling to an eastern fort, having been stationed there. little did the conscript know that this was the beginning of an undead nightmare.
