Ariel plays the saxophone. That's what she says when someone asks what she likes to do, or when those stupid class games at the start of the year want you to say something "interesting". But Ariel doesn't play it well. At least, she's enrolled in the music program at an art school, and considered one of the best. But out there? In the real world, dozens of artists are in line, each one better and better than Ariel dreams she could ever be. What does it mean to be good at something? Ariel can write stories, and memorize poetry, and read more books than anyone else. Ariel used to be able to run faster than all the girls she knew. Ariel can sing... Okay, maybe not. But she doesn't want to sing, or run, or only memorize poetry. She wants to perform. And she wants to be good at it. In a quirky, honest world, Ariel Singh faces the twists and turns of an average teenager in the wake of prodigies. Torn between the pull of romance, academics, friendships and talent, Ariel never knows what she'll do, or how she'll do it.

Meet Mia Sheehan, the "Ms. Goody Goody" student council president. Ever since that one fine summer moment between her and Patrick, she already fell head over heels for him. She has been tailing him for 8 years now (and counting). All she wanted is for Patrick to realize that she has legit feelings for him, and that hopefully, he loves her back. Patrick McKee on the other hand is the laid-back main vocalist and second guitarist of the band, 'Setting Fire to Lithium'. He's also known as one of the popular guys in school with a cocky personality. Being popular has its perks, he has fangirls... lots of them, and he loves the attention. He's a player in the making, enjoying short term flirtings for fun. They're neighbors, they're school mates, they're classmates. It's their junior year in highschool at Hearst High. Mia is still head over heels for him while Patrick continuously enjoys the attention and the non-commital flirtations among his willing fangirls whenever, wherever. What if one day a new guy enters the picture? A transferee student who made Mia realize how silly she is for liking someone for years who doesn't even feel the same way as hers. Will things start to change? Will Patrick end up realizing something? What will happen to everybody now? There's only one way to find out.
