Mirell Darling, a girl who never wants to grow up. Nevaeh, a grown woman who is a very good friend of the Darling family and remains young at heart. And Mirell's brothers, John and Michael, who believe in fairytales and stories that include pirates and indians.

Their whole lives, these four have dreamed of having exciting adventures. They would tell each other stories, as well as act them out.

Little did any of them know their lives would change in ways they never thought would happen after a mysterious boy visits the Darling's nursery.
