In a world where only, certain individuals are born with psychic powers, it is peaceful at first and everyone lives together normally. It isn't until a new leader is elected, and because the former leader unexpected death, the people do not have a choice. Under this new leader, a new government is formed. Now everyone who is gifted with their abilities are now considered dangerous beings and are being stripped of certain privileges, opportunities and even rights. Most of the gifted individuals have gone into hiding, fearing the light of day for the rest of their lives. It's been months since a gifted individual has been seen or even heard of. They are like hush subjects in schools, homes, and any social gatherings all around the world.

Nighttime was now the new daytime for the gifted. And just like that they had become night owls
Mariana lives with a group of other psychic teenagers in an old orphanage, under the care of women who disguise themselves as simple caretakers.

Their lives are changed suddenly when the orphanage is discovered, and their temporary guardians are killed by government officials. Now Mariana and a few others are definitely on the run now. Together the group decides to face the problem instead of running away from it. Now this is there chance to overthrow the corrupt system and bring back equality.
