Virtual Love

Obsessive singer and upcoming Broadway star Mia Ambretta is hopelessly in love with jazz pianist and composer Alder Finley, who rejects her. In a desperate attempt, she submits an audition for POP-live, the virtual YouTuber agency that Alder loves.

To her surprise, she passes, and prepares for her debut as Lyra Limelight, an adorable lime-green frog (cat?) girl from POP-live's English branch's second generation.

As Lyra, she meets and forms bonds with her new fellow coworkers from POP-live, growing a huge fanbase as a virtual idol and capturing Alder's heart, all the while with him being oblivious to who she is in reality.

Mia survives the drama from the VTuber community, a roommate who is obsessed with a VTuber from the other big agency, Rainbowlove, trips to Japan for work, sacrificing her musical life for her virtual one, and various painful moments a double-life brings, all as she begins a twisted long-distance relationship with Alder that makes her satisfied at last, even if they can never meet.

But when the truth of their relationship finally comes out due to a heart-wrenching betrayal from someone who Mia thought was a friend, at POP-live's annual festival attended by hundreds of thousands, both Mia and Alder are exposed to the unforgiving, cruel eyes of the internet.

What can Mia say to Alder, from whom she kept this secret the entire time and is now also facing harassment and death threats? What can Lyra do to save her life, and her family and friends from being doxxed and harmed?
