A kid named Vera ends up in the forest with her 13 black cats because her friend Aura got caught spray-painting the mayor's house. These 13 black cats used to live in this very same forest before Vera took them all in- and the things that happened in that forest were to stay in that forest. They encountered an old enemy, created rumors about each other, and almost destroyed their group before the forest had a chance to.
TW: Murder (and plans for murder), discussion of death, animal violence, vandalism, semi-graphic description of injuries, self-harm, mental illness, B-plot romance, etc... This book covers a list of serious topics, specifically related to mental state (but not exclusively). If you have an issue with how I handle a subject, comment and I will get back to you. But like... dead dove don't eat, the tags are there for a REASON! And the TWs are listed out too. Don't report me and get this taken away from everyone.

Author facts/book history:
-I started working on this book years ago. There have been 2 main drafts- both with their own flaws in how the plot ran. This is basically both of them combined with as many plot holes as I found removed.
-The second main draft of this book completely removed one of the 13 cats, and I almost didn't realize it when I was writing. Sorry, Eclipse. I won't forget you this time.
-Raven and Luna were originally a canonical ship. Do what you will with that.
-The first main draft of this book was the first book I've actually finished writing

Even in my damp mood I feel sorry for the little animal. "You don't have a home, little guy?" I ask, squatting to see it better. Did it just shake its head!? I blink a few times and sigh. I'm probably seeing things. It's been overwhelmingly negative lately. I reach a hand for the feline and it corresponds, tucking its head under it. I pet it's wet coat and stare at it as it closes its eyes. I can't leave such a pitiful thing next to the dumpsters and cold rain to be frozen alive or ravished by stray dogs. So I do what every human being would do in my situation, I take it home. And that was possibly the stupidest thing I've ever done. *** This is a story about a girl named Lucky. But of course she's everything but lucky. One day she comes across this odd feline who acts strangely like a human. Maybe he is really a human and Lucky has got her hands into a whole lot of trouble.
