James and Regulus did their best for their baby. They really did. They loved the child more than anything, and they had a long, wonderful life planned for their little family. That went down the drain one cold night in a cave, one death among the many that were destined to follow.

Astrid Black understands their place in the world. They are the heir to The Most Noble and Ancient House of Black, child of Regulus Black and someone their grandparents have kept a secret for as long as they can remember. Astrid is exactly what their grandparents wanted. They are smart, respectful, and never question their beliefs. It seemed like they would make the perfect heir. Maybe the third time really was the charm? That was all put to question when Astrid found out who their other parent was, none other than James Potter. This throws Astrid into a world of deceit and lies going back years before their birth, long before their name was ever considered, let alone spoken. They took it all in stride and followed all the rules. They trusted their grandparents and stayed in line. They ignored everything screaming at them that something was wrong.

Until they didn't.

*BOOK ONE* *COMPLETED* "I don't need your pity." Regulus began pulling a box of cigarettes from his pocket "I know how shitty my family is." He handed a cigarette to Astrid, who placed it in her mouth before allowing Regulus to light it with his lighter. Regulus watched as she took a draw, her cheeks hollowing out before releasing the white smoke from her perfect full lips. "Your right, pity is over rated," Astrid said cigarette in hand "Fuck pity." Regulus chuckled at her words "Who hurt you?" He asked lighting his own cigarette. "It doesn't matter," she said with a small smile "The world is filled with assholes, who cares anymore." "And I guess I'm one of those assholes," Regulus mused blowing smoke out from his mouth. Astrid turned towards him "The world is filled with assholes, but your not one of them Reg." "How do you know that," Regulus asked looking up at the cloudy winters sky. "Because assholes don't care about others as much as you do." // When Astrid Winston was transferred from beauxbatons; she didn't know she would end up befriend the strangest group of friends. Calling them strange was an understatement they were flat out bonkers. However, a grave secret in the form of Regulus Black threatens to tear them apart as Astrid befriends one of her best friends little brother. But can what the devil speak be true as the once-quiet whispers of the dark lords uprising become a lot more than whispers. Everyone saw me as perfect, I always had been my whole life. I was Regulus Black, I was raised to be perfect. I was everything that my parents wanted me to be. Pureblood, Slytherin, and the opposite of my brother. My brother was Sirius Black, known as the heart throb of Hogwarts. My parents hated him. He had been sorted into Gryffindor. He had been set free. I have always been jealous of him, he isn't stuck being controlled. He has forgotten about me, moved on completely. He once promised me that we would both escape together, but he broke it. How could I forgive him for that? He ran away over the summer and left me there. "Sorry." I was pulled out of my thoughts when I heard that oh so beautiful voice. "Sorry Marisa, I didn't mean to bump into you!" Some random kid who I didn't know exclaimed. "It was my fault, I should have been more careful." Marisa smiled. My heart skipped a beat at the sight of it. Marisa was a Hufflepuff, and she was one of the most popular girls in the school. She was in the year just above me. She was another one of Sirius' friends. She is also the girl I've had a crush on since third year, but I've never even spoken to her.
