College sweethearts Flip and Lynne aim to graduate together but she gets pregnant a year before graduating and decides to disappear without telling him of her pregnancy. She comes back six years later to entrust their son to him while she studies abroad and working on their son's papers.
Despite wanting to start a family with her and their son, he gives way to her dream that she once set aside while raising their son alone but promises to continue courting her even in a long distance set up.
Their new normal starts well and the hope of getting back together becomes stronger until Flip reunites with his old crush who gets closer to him and his son making Lynne insecure and turn to a suitor who really likes her a lot.
With their new found romance with different people, the hope of reconciling may soon go to waste and they may finally separate this time around.
