Daemon Velaryon ascended as Lord of the Tides and Master of Driftmark on his tenth name day, inheriting a house that had seen its power wane in the wake of Robert's Rebellion. A warrior of exceptional skill, he was counted among the greatest fighters in the realm surpassed only by Ser Barristan Selmy and Ser Jaime Lannister. Yet it was not only his sword that made him formidable; Daemon possessed one of the keenest minds in Westeros, a man as shrewd in council as he was deadly in combat.
In the aftermath of the rebellion, House Velaryon had fallen from grace, its influence diminished and its name spoken with less reverence than in the days of old. But under Daemon's rule, that changed. Forging alliances, expanding trade, and strengthening his fleet, he spent a decade restoring his house to prominence. By his nineteenth name day, House Velaryon stood as the third richest house in Westeros, its ships once again dominating the Narrow Sea.
On the eve of his twentieth name day, a raven arrived from Winterfell. Lord Eddard Stark extended an invitation, offering a marriage pact between Daemon and his daughter, Sansa Stark a union that could bind the North and the Velaryon fleet in blood and loyalty.

The Fire That Burns Within US - Aemond Targaryen
Like her mother, Princess Visenya Velaryon had grown closer with her uncle Aemond. The two children would often sneak away from their duties to play with the wooden swords Aemond had stolen for the Princess, or lay outside of the dragon pit watching as the creators of their house flew around, or sometimes they would sit in the gardens with the rest of the new generation of Velaryon and Targyern, sitting next to each other and often the of two children would lay their head on the others shoulder and drift to sleep grasping onto each other's hand. But as they grew up, the feelings they had for each other grew into something more, Aemond growing protective over Visenya and glaring at any lord or prince that would come her way at balls wanting a dance, wanting nothing more for his mother and father to agree to the Princess Rhaenyra proposal of marriage between the two. When the two were ripped apart from each other after a mishap about a claiming of a dragon and the loss of an eye, the two of them thought the other would forget about them. They would not be there to keep each other safe, and the fire they had burning within them would slowly be snuffed out.
